A Fantastic Website for Pre-schoolers

The past few weeks, while I've been preparing breakfast, I've turned the television on and put on Sprout. Call me a bad mom if you wish, but I think small doses of TV are okay for kids. Sprout is a PBS cable channel aimed directly at children pre-school aged and younger. They have shows like Sesame Street, Caillou, Bob the Builder, and many other great shows.

During the morning hours, they have a show called The Sunny Side Up Show, which features a puppet bird called Chica. They feature birthday cards viewers send in and they choose some of them to show during the show. The rest of the birthdays scroll across the bottom of the screen. Just out of curiousity, I went to their website this morning to see how to submit a card to get it on the show.

WOW! This is one seriously great website!! If you have kids from the age of 1-5 (older kids may enjoy some of the crafts and coloring), you need to look at this website! There are a million crafts, coloring pages, recipes, activities, and games--all with an educational twist!!

I highly suggest you go check out Sprout Online!! You do have to sign up to get into the website, but you can opt out of getting any further information from them and their partners. I can't wait to do some activities!

I loved Little Spout. You know the Jolly Green Guy's side kick!

I have no little ones, but it sounds totally cool to me. Next time I want to throw myself on the floor and have a tantrum I'll check it out :)

My guys are too old for this now, but I really miss those little kids shows. I was just telling someone the other day that I started watching Sesame Street when I was about 4 yrs old, and didn't stop until I was in my early 20s. And then when I had kids in my early 30s, I started watching it again. ;D
