What a Whiner-Wiener!

Henry Wiener was pissing and moaning about not getting equal face time on the blog. So I've decided to grant his wish and do an entire post about Henry Whiner Wiener.

Truth be told, he whines a LOT.

I want to go outside so I can take forever to do my "bidness"! *whine*
I want into the kitchen so I can eat all the good stuff midget drops on the floor! *whine*
I want some ear scratching and belly rubbing! *whine*
I want Lucy Wiener to stop humping me! *whine*

In fact, he whined all day Saturday up on the deck while we were working so hard in the garden. I swear he was pouting like he was stuck in jail or something!

Hello Beautiful...

This is what we did on Saturday, and by we, I mean my husband.

I'll give you a minute to finish squealing.

Now that you've got yourself back together--isn't it lovely? This is the future home of my vegetable garden! We've ordered all the plants and seeds and are now just waiting for the last frost date to pass and then we'll get started!

My black thumb is slowly healing and is currently a lovely shade of purpley-yellowish. I expect it to be fully green by the time my plants arrive. I've even been practicing in my windowsill!

I found the little basil and parsley containers at IKEA. I think they were about a buck-fifty each, but I can't remember. The parsley in the green pot was purchased at the grocery store and then transplanted into the little pot. I can never seem to use up a sprig of parsley before it spoils, so I thought I'd try buying a plant and snipping some off when I need it. Seems to be working okay so far!

I also have a container that I'm going to plant herbs in and keep up on my deck for easy access. I can't wait to show you all the progress!!

Have I told you I'm a complete novice at this whole gardening thing? I'm terrified that the plants will arrive when my husband is out of town! I don't have the foggiest idea of what to do with the plants and the seeds once they arrive...

SO if you are a gardener, make sure you let me know in the comments so I can bug you when I have a question!

This is what we did on Saturday, and by we, I mean Me & Midget!

Silly Wiener

The Hubby took Henry Wiener with him this week, so it was just us girls. I had fabulous girlie plans, including mani/pedi's planned for all three of us, but both Midget and Lucy Wiener screamed the second I touched their little piggies. Oh well. At least Midget and I read a Harlequin romance novel and Lucy helped me finish a bottle of wine. *hic*

Speaking of the little stinkerbutt, Lucy Wiener is notorious for finding and laying in any little slice of sunshine. She moves throughout the house during the day, searching for a place to bask in the warm sunlight. She found a new place to lay today--the changing table--and I still haven't figured out how in the heck she managed to get up there! Maybe Go-Go-Gadget-Wiener-Legs??

Girls week and this silly Wiener are FINER things! For more finer things--visit

Fiesta!!

One of my favorite bloggity buddies, Dr. Wifey, talked about needing new dishes a few days ago. I am always quick to jump in and recommend my everyday dishware, Fiestaware, by the Homer Laughlin China Co.

We registered for eight place settings of Fiestaware for our wedding waaaaaaaaay back in 1997. Since then, I've added five place settings and various pieces of serveware. I'm even more in love with my Fiesta than I was when I chose it!

OF COURSE SHE TOOK MY ADVICE--because I am the Queen of dishware!

Have I ever told you that I have six or seven different sets of dishes?

I don't.

Okay, I do.

I used to make fun of my Mother because she had umpteen millions sets of dishes. Now I'm pretty sure I have more than she does. Ooooops!

Look how handy my multi-color Fiestaware was when we were dying eggs!

Even though it's beautiful, the Fiestaware wasn't quite able to steal the show from these two !

I Have a Problem

My new camera takes such good pictures that I take a bazillion pictures. I have the hardest time narrowing down all these pictures into posts!!

I really have to start getting more posts up! Number one reason--I miss all my bloggy friends! I tried to catch up on all your blogs last night and I have to apologize if I didn't leave comments. I tried, but after a while, my eyes started crossing, I posted my comments on the wrong posts (more than once), and I had to give up. I managed to read all of them, but I completely ran out of words.

Number two reason--I got an email from an advertiser on my page whose name rhymes with SchmogSchmer nudging me to get some posts going!! I guess tough love works, eh?

Just to give you an example, I took exactly 100 pictures when we did our little backyard egg hunt (I took one out to make it equal numbers in the collage).

Brave Little Midget

At the Waterpark, the kids area had a fairly large slide. The niece and nephew went down the slide with Midget a few times, but after that, she wanted to go on her own! I got a little dizzy watching the constant circle from the slide to the pool, slide-pool, slide-pool, slide-pool AD NAUSEUM!! Let's just say Midget slept well that night!

Easter Bunny S'mores in a Jar

While my niece and nephews were here this week, I cashed in on some cheap labor! I made the Easter Bunny S'mores in a Jar I spotted on Tip Junkie. I happily paid them in Peeps and a batch of the Easter Bunny S'mores. By the way, here's a tip for you--brush your hair and put makeup on after a waterpark visit, especially if you have even the tiniest notion that someone may decide it's a good idea to take a picture...

Tricia-Rennea made some Easter Tags to put on my S'mores Jars!! I made one tiny little mention of Easter tags and KA-POW--she had them up on her blog!

You have got to bookmark her and show her some comment love! This woman is such a fantastic illustrator and SO nice! Go check out her cute stuff--NOW!!

Our First 5K Race

Midget and I walked our first 5K race together a few weekends ago!

When my friend asked me to go, she mentioned facepainting and beer. I never really thought we were actually going to be IN the race. I just thought we were going downtown to hang out and drink beer.

I was pretty nervous about it, as I haven't done a 5k in a looooooong time and I was skinny the last time! But, it was pretty easy and I plan on doing quite a few more (as long as there is the promise of beer at the end hehe).

By the way, we didn't finish last. We were pretty close though...
