Did I Mention....

that I am now a mother-in-law? At the ripe old age of 33 folks.

My Stepson came back after Christmas and was supposed to be bringing his fiance. Well, instead he showed up with his WIFE! I'm happy for the newlyweds and pray for their continued love, devotion, and understanding of each other.

But could you just wait to have kids until I'm at least old enough to actually have a grandchild? Like at least another 7 years. A 40-year old grandmother can be a hot grandma, but any younger and it's just "huh?"

I'm really not above begging.

Really.

Really, really...

Congrats! And oh, I just cannot imagine having a married child. Or a grand child. I can't picture it yet! I don't want to picture it...

I just had to giggle... courtesy of my stepdaughter I became I grandma at 34 -- my own youngest child was only 3!

I'm 32 and a grandma...or a mimi, but the same thing. Of course, it was my stepdaughter but still...mimi it is.

I want to hear more about this surprise wife!

Congrats! You know, it is entirely possible that you could be a grandma at 34. Better a young grandma than an old one. :)

They are a cute couple. You are WAY too young to be a mother-in-law. There has to be a cuter title. If grandmothers can give themselves cuter titles, surely we can find you one? Thinking... Thinking... I'll think of something!

I have to return the favor Carrie...you were digging my brother and I have to say that your stepson is a hottie himself!

Holy cow ~ a MIL?!?!? I would have killed him right then and there. ;)

But yeah. I hear ya on the grandma front. I am trying to convince my kids that they DON'T want kids. Ever. LOL

Holy moly! A few years ago, when I was 42, I met a gal (who was maybe 20) and she had a baby, and she mentioned something about her dad turning 42, and I flipped and thought OMG, a grandparent at 42? At 42, my kids were 10 and 8 yrs old!

And now I read this: one can be a grandparent in their 30s!!! through the magic of step-parenting. Wow.

Life never ceases to amaze me (and I hope you get your wish to not be a granny until you're 40)!
