Santa vs. The Midget

I took the midget to see Santa Claus tonight at our local McDonald's. Why McDonald's you ask? Because there's no way in H-E-DOUBLE-HOCKEY-STICKS I am paying $19.99 to stand in line at the mall for a teeny tiny stupid picture! So for $3.40, the midget got a hamburger Happy Meal (complete with pink My Little Pony and comb), a goodie bag, AND a picture with Santa!

There were a lot of people there (apparently I'm not the only cheap parent on the planet) and we got there late (of course), so I was a little afraid of not getting a picture, but thankfully Santa stayed long enough for me to capture this:

and this:

But then finally the McDonald's employee caught this one:

Is it bad I was laughing the entire time?

Don't miss my guest inquisit-ing today over at Sunshine & Lemonade!

Hey that's a pretty good Santa for $3 and a Happy Meal!!

I'm cracking up... I laughed when my kids were crying too. Poor little thing. But she looks so darn cute in that outfit. Makes me sad my kids are big now. Great! Thanks for making me all sad that I don't have a screaming baby to laugh at this season. Oh... wait, I think my 2 year old just might be scared of Santa. There's still hope, now I need to find a McDonald's Santa!

QUITE POSSIBLY WE SEND OUR KIDS MIXED MESSAGES (SIT STILL ON THE BIG STRANGER'S LAP WHILE I LAUGH AND TAKE PICTURES), BUT IT'S ALL IN THE NAME OF A GOOD PICTURE--AND I LOVE A GOOD PICTURE! JUST SAVE A LITTLE FOR COUNSELING, AND YOU'LL BE FINE! THANKS FOR VISITING MY BLOG, AND MERRY SITSMAS!

I'm visiting from Kat's blog. :) I didn't even know that McD's had santas! My friends and i used to go and have our photos taken with santa every year... until we were well into our 20's. LOL :p

That is a pretty awesome Santa for a Mickey D's. I still need to take my girls for their annual visit. Not sure when that will happen. December is flying by. And I am afraid to put up my tree. The kittens will eat it for sure.

And I love the screaming. When Madalyn was a baby we went on a carriage ride with Santa. Yep. She screamed the entire time.

The mall Santa (and the price of those pictures) is ridiculous! This sounds like a great way to go...but I've never heard of Santa visiting any of our McDonalds. Darn it all!

There is a local nursing home (really nice, classy one) that has a FREE breakfast with Santa. Breakfast, Crafts, Stories, Santa, etc. all for free! They just ask that you bring a canned good donation. This is what we've have done with our kids for the past two years.

The ONLY advantage to marrying a man 24 years older than me with a pot belly and a beard was that when I took The Ladies to see Santa, they were like "daddy!!"

OMG those are hysterical!! And what a treasure!! I freaking love it!!

I wish I could find a local McDonald's at which to find a Santa... and cheap photos!! We have yet to do that... I'm keeping my eyes wide open, now!

Oh that is too funny!!!! At least you both were able to see Santa... and with her reaction, better you didn't spend anymore. :)

Still, great photos!!

Love her little precious heart...

Oh, Carrie...these made me SMILE!

And no, it's not bad you were laughing the entire time...both my girls did this on their 2nd Christmases (Libbey was almost 2, Caroline had just turned 1) and they both caved. Just caved. Wouldn't take one for the team. Tears were forming puddle at Santa's feet. Meanwhile, Scott and I stood there unable to breathe because we were laughing our tails off.

You are in good company.

Absolutely not - you were't a bad mom! But, I say that because I would have done the same thing: laughed while my child cried. LOL!!

It's a pretty convincing Santa for the price too! ;)

I LOVE that picture!! The crying ones are my favorite. I didn't care, that was what my child was like at that time. Memories, you can't buy ones like that!

HI came over from Kats World and wanted to say HELLO! I was reading about your Sushi adventures...funny. I am fluent in chopsticks I have no choice about that...MY MIL doesn't allow forks...long story! Sushi is a standard for the HUBS about 2 times a week. I only eat COOKED california rolls...no raw for me! Have a great weekend!

Having a contest over my way. Stop on by when you have a minute!

Love it!!! I'll admit if it were me and my kid I would have laughed too. :D

You have an award waiting for you on my blog :)

Heather said...

Oh no, not bad to laugh at all, 'cause then my chuckling while looking at the pictures isn't wrong. :)

That's like every picture from my childhood, except Midget was playing the part of my little sister, while I was sitting, disgruntled with her behavior and desperately trying to talk to Santa on his other knee. I have always LOVED me some Santa. Mmm-hmmm. I know who brought the loot!

Love the last pic!
